Pioneer announces the P2-K/-S-- a compact component hi-fi system consisting of the SX-P01 stereo receiver, the N-P01 network audio player and a pair of matching 2-way speakers.
Described by the company as the "nerve centre and power station" of the system, the SX-P01 produces up to 2 x 75W of power, with a separate pre-amplifier block and power supply. It features "many" inputs and outputs and a built-in FM tuner, and is also available with a built-in DAB+ tuner (P2DAB or P1DAB).
Meanwhile the N-P01 handles audio streaming from PCs or NAS via either wired or wifi connection, as well as streaming from mobile devices via Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay and USB and access to vTuner internet radio and the Spotify streaming service.
Audio format support includes MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC, ALAC, AIFF and DSD (2.8 MHz), with a built-in 192kHz/32-bit DAC handling high resolution audio playback.
Control comes through included IR remote or mobile device (Android or iOS) app.
Finally the included S-P01-LR bookshelf speakers feature a 12cm high-strength glass fibre cone woofer and 25mm soft dome tweeter.
The P2-K/-S hi-fi system will be available in black or silver from September 2014. The N-P01 network audio player will also be separately available for connection to existing P1 systems.
