The team behind the in-wall loudspeaker (back at SpeakerCraft) is now at Origin Acousitics to announce the release of the ThinFit collection-- 3 loudspeakers designed for installations with limited depth requirements.
The 3 models, the TF34, TF36 and TF64DT, feature an integrated back-can only 70mm deep. The TF34 and TF36 share a driver configuration, with dual 88mm woofers and dual 88mm midwoofer surrounding a 20mm tweeter mounted on an injection-molded baffle integrating into a steel back-can to create a ported enclosure.
The TF36 steps up to glass fibre woofers and a silk-dome tweeter.
Meanwhile the TF64DT features a 17cm dual voice coil, IMG woofer and two 20mm aluminium tweeters, all mounted on an injection-molded baffle attached to a steel back-can creating a sealed enclosure. The dual-tweeter design allows a single speaker to produce both left and right channels.
All 3 models use the same bezel-less magnetic grille assembly founding the Director D80 series, and Origin says the acoustic dampening enclosures cut room-to-room sound transfer by up to 9dB.
The ThinFit Collection ships from April 2015.
