The Audiophile-Grade ZX2 Walkman

The Sony ZX2 Walkman is not only a followup to the 2014 ZX1, but also one designed with audiophile customers in mind, with S-Master HX and DSEE HX technologies allowing high-resolution (192kHz/24-bit) audio playback.

ZX2 WalkmanDescribed by the company as "the fruit of continuous refinement in high audio quality technologies," the ZX2 runs on Android 4.2 and supports DSD, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and Apple Lossless files, among others. It also features Bluetooth for streaming (with the LDAC codec promising high quality wireless audio), while NFC allows for one-touch connections with speakers and headphones.

Further connectivity comes through wifi and USB port.

Construction is in aluminum and gold-plated aluminum. Built-in storage clocks at 128GB (expandable to 256GB via microSD), and Sony says the high-capacity Li-ion battery powers up to 60 hours of music on a single charge.

The ZX2 is available from Q2 2015.
