The AllSeen Alliance launches the AllJoyn Gateway Agent-- an extension of the AllJoyn open source networking software framework providing remote access, device management and fine-grained security and privacy control.

AllJoyn allows internet of things (IoT) devices and apps to easily discover and communicate with each other, regardless of brand, transform, platform or OS. The addition of the Gateway Agent provides customers, service providers and OEMs a secure means to connect and manage AllJoyn-enabled devices and apps from external networks or cloud-based services.

The Gateway Agent provides end-to-end encryption with fine-grained control, as well as support for cloud services, PAN and wireless technologies (Bluetooth, ZigBee, Z-Wave). Open standard support includes REST, XMPP, MQTT and TR-O69
