Epson brings its 4K enhancement technology to the home cinema market with the EH-LS10000-- a 1080p laser projector featuring a dual laser light source to deliver wide colour gamut and "absolute" black.

“[T]he EH-LS10000 is our first projector with 4K enhancement technology to digitally upscale 1080p content, improving the texture and resolution of on-screen content, so users can experience the high quality and silky smooth pictures of 4K," the company says. "Our new 3LCD Reflective technology delivers high contrast ratios, a high aperture for smooth images and high-speed motion response for crisp pictures in fast motion scenes.”

The projector uses 3LCD reflective technology and promises high white and light colour output for vivid colours, while a 408Hz ensures bright 3D images. Further features include ISF calibration, detail enhancement technology, frame interpolation, 2D to 3D conversion and depth control.

For installers, a wide shift range, powered zoom lens and lens position memory presents make projector positioning easy. Operation is near-silent, and a sleek design makes for easy blending with home cinema setups.

Epson also promises a long-life life source of up to 30000 in Eco mode.

The EH-LS10000 is available from April 2015.
