AudioControl starts shipping the Bijou 600, a compact integrated zone amplifier with built-in DAC designed to add additional home audio zones and boosting the output of TVs, soundbars and gaming devices.
First seen at ISE 2015, the Bijou 600 features 2 x 100W per channel at 8 ohms, and outputs 200W at 4 ohms. It can also act as a 400W mono-block the company says is stable to 3.6 ohms, and is ideal for improving the audio of TV zones, streaming systems and low impedance speakers.
The built-in Wolfson DAC features a number of bass management features, including subwoofer mono out, AccuBASS equalisation and selectable high- and low-pass crossover.
Installers can hide the compact 1U, half-rack chassis behind thin displays or any additional zone. Further installer-friendly features include switchable inputs (analog, digital coax, digital optical), variable volume control circuitry and control via discrete IR and RS232 commands.
