URC presents a lower-cost smaller-form equivalent to the MRX-10 and MRX-20 system controllers-- the MRX-8, featuring the same dimensions as company's MRX-1 and MRX-2, making it ideal for installations within tight spaces.
Like the MRX-10, the MRX-8 integrates natively with other URC audio distribution products on the network, including streamers, amps and home theatre receivers, providing customers with 2-way IP control. It also handles Z-Wave control via the addition of the MiOS-based TRF-ZW1 gateway.
Making the controller more attractive for customers on a budget are free, unlimited licenses for both iOS and Android URC apps.
In other URC news the company launches a 2-way driver for Sonos, allowing control of all Sonos audio products through Total Control user interfaces.
URC says installer can either setup a DMS system and add Sonos products as a source, use Sonos speakers to add a wireless zone to a DMS system or simply use Sonos as a primary music system in combination with any other products.
The company says the driver handles all Sonos-specific features (such as favorites, queues, playlists and playback from NAS storage), and also enables full access to the Deezer Rhapsody, Spotify, Pandora, Sirius/XM, Songza, Stitcher, TuneIn, Amazon and Beats streaming services.
