The Zigen ZIG-POE-70 is an HDBaseT transmitter/receiver set able to transmit HDMI signals together with RS232, IR control and Power over Ethernet (PoE) for up to 70m over a single category cable.
It handles video at up to 4K/UHD @ 60Hz with embedded multi-channel audio and remote 48V power for the receiver, and provides bi-directional extension of 12V IR (IR receiver included) and RS232 commands.
The set is HDCP 2.2 compliant and supports EDID communication.
The ZIG-POE-70 sender provides a solution for the detection and powering of PoE IEEE 802.3af devices such as the ZIG-POE receiver/TV box. It safely detects, classifies and provides up to 13W of power to the receiver via HDBaseT. In turn the receiver reads a signature from the sender (TX) and enables power delivery once safe power deliver conditions are met.
The link is monitored continuously for faults or overloading during power delivery, and current is limited to avoid hazardous conditions. The sender also senses the removal of powered devices, and turns off the 48V power supply when the receiver is disconnected.
