The Pakedge Device & Software router kit lineup get the addition of the RE2 router, as well as Pakedge switch technology designed specifically for AV and automation applications.

Customers can pair the RE2 router with one of two managed switch options-- the enterprise-class 8-port S8Hav or the "reliable" 8-port S8Mpd. Both switches are fibre compatible.

Pakedge says the RE2 router carries enterprise-grade components, and includes a virtual DMZ, 3 dedicated LAN ports, 1 dedicated WAN port and another one can configure either way. It also features free DNS functionality and is BakPak Cloud Management compatible.

The RE2 and the two managed switches are further enhanced with Pakedge Zones-- preconfigured zones designed to improve network performance across routers, switches and access points by separating different types of traffic.

The zones also make the switches virtually plug-and-play and prevents traffic from flooding the network to ensure latency-sensitive devices, such as VoIP, remain intact.
