  • PDF

Screen Innovations (SI) launches what it claims is the "first ambient-light screen that’s massive and black in colour"-- the Slate .8, a screen the company says allows for super large displays in brightly lit environments.

Slate .8The Slate .8 is made from a flexible, multiparticle optic material, and reportedly delivers a 55% increase in contrast over the nearest competitor while blending with any décor. It also rejects up to 65% of room ambient light, an improvement over the 10% light rejection of white or gray screens.

"Our dealers are installing Slate .8 in well-lit rooms, and experiencing black levels and improved contrast that were unimaginable a year ago," the company says. "Slate .8 is the first massive, ambient-light black screen in the world that has created a paradigm shift for large screen projection applications."

It is available now in motorised, Zero Edge and fixed frame screen formats, in sizes ranging from 80- to 250-inch.
