TP-Link has an interesting solution to add connected smarts to "dumb" devices-- the Kasa Smart Wifi Power Strip, a wifi-enabled power strip allowing one to control devices via companion app and various voice assistants.

The power strip allows independent control of 6 devices, and includes x3 USB ports for the charing of 3 others. It connects with wifi networks and allows users to switch each outlet on or off individually. The Kasa Smart app also provides energy consumption metrics, pointing out devices consuming too much power, and allows users to create device schedules and groups. Compatibility with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Microsoft Cortana adds voice control.

The Kasa Smart Wifi Power Strip is available now in the US.
