Epson follows on the CEDIA Expo 2018 launch of the Pro Cinema 4050 4K projector with the Home Cinema 4010-- an entry-level number able to use "pixel-shifting" in order to project a quasi-4K resolution image.
The Home Cinema 4010 uses three LCD panels to create three 1080p microdisplays. The result is images with maximum input resolution of 4096 x 2160, as well as 10-bit colour, 200000:1 contrast ratio and HDR10 support (but no Dolby Vision or HDR10+). Image brightness reaches a maximum of 2400 lumens.
A 15-element glass projection lens promises uniform images, while a 3-axes motor powers focus with 2.1x zoom, up to ± 96% horizontal and up to ± 47% vertical lens shift. The projector also includes 10 preset positions for easy installation.
