The Wireless Speaker and Audio (WiSA) Association  announces its latest 3 members-- Foxconn, Innovo Audio Designs and System Audio, bringing the number of companies making part of the orginisation to over 40.

WiSA“Our newest members bring meaningful experience, versatility and scalability to our member roster,” the association says. “Given our explosive member growth this year, we have gained critical mass and are eager to assist our members in launching a broad range of innovative products that support a global movement in support of wireless audio. The recent momentum is also a testament to the success of our WiSA Ready certification.”

The aim of WiSA is to develop and certify universal standards allowing for immersive, uncompressed, multichannel sound. A recent development is the WiSA Ready certification, a means for customers to identify entertainment devices (be it TVs, gaming systems or PCs) able to deliver up to 8 channels of HD wireless audio to WiSA Certified speakers when connected with a WiSA USB transmitter.

As for the latest members, Foxconn is, of course, multinational electronics contract manufacturing giant. It is the owner of Sharp, meaning its membership brings back a founding member to WiSA. Innovo Audio Design creates "innovative consumer products," while System Audio is a Danish loudspeaker brand established back in 1984.
