Ubiquiti Networks presents the AmpliFI HD Gamer's Edition-- a version of the AmpliFi HD mesh networking system featuring Nvidia co-branding and what the company claims is firmware optimised for cloud gaming services (such as Nvidia's GeForce NOW).

"Gamers demand perfection and AmpliFi HD Gamer's Edition is a great solution for improving network-intense cloud gaming sessions."
The AmpliFi HD Gamer's Edition features tweaks on the regular AmpliFi HD in terms of both hardware and software. The system comes in a uni-body design with 270-degree rotation capability for optimal positioning (the standard MeshPoint HD unit has 170-degree rotation with the adjustable antenna). The design is also different, being black and replete with gamer-style LED lighting.
Meanwhile QoS tweaks on the firmware promise to improve gaming. The system is able de-prioritise other traffic to ensure smooth online gaming. Another enhancement targets the GeForce NOW streaming service by detecting latency and frame-loss issues to provide a "top-quality experience," even when other traffic is on the network.
Shipments of the AmpliFi HD Gamer's Edition should start later this month.
