Lexicon is the next home theatre specialist to join the IMAX Enhanced program, as it announces compatibility with a number of products, namely the MC-10 processor, and the RV-9 and RV-6 receivers.

The receivers and processors will receive a firmware update allowing reproduction of the full dynamic range of a proprietary IMAX audio mix, as translated for home theatre environments and delivered using a variant of the DTS:X codec. Lexicon is one of the first IMAX Enhanced licensees, meaning it meets a set of performance standards set by a certification committee of IMAX and DTS engineers and technical specialists from Hollywood.

IMAX Enhanced is a certification and licensing programming combining high-end consumer electronics products with IMAX digitally re-mastered 4K HDR content and DTS audio technology. The result promises a new level of quality in immersive sight and sound experiences for the home. So far the programme counts Sony, Sound United, Arcam, Elite, Integra, TCL, Onkyo and Pioneer as backers, together with Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Rakuten TV and FandangoNOW.

The MC-10, RV-9 and RV-6 are available now.
