Optoma expands the DuraCore laser ProScene projector range with the ZU506 and ZH506-- a pair of compact high-specification models offering WUXGA and 1080p resolution respectively, together with 5000 lumens brightness.

The company says the laser light engine delivers up to 30000 hours in full brightness mode and continuous 24/7 operation. IP5X certification makes the projectors suitable for demanding environments, such as schools and colleges, museums, consumer attractions, houses of worship and corporate AV. Installation aids include vertical lens shift and 1.6x zoom.

Installation is made more flexible through vertical lens shift and four corner adjustment in case of uneven wall or the projector is installed at an angle. The projectors also sport integrated 10W stereo speakers, and can be managed and monitored over network via RJ45. Compatible Crestron RoomView software allows power on/off, monitoring, management and control of up to 250 projectors at the same time, from any computer.

“Optoma’s new 506 series offers an affordable laser solution for customers who might otherwise be looking at high brightness lamp-based projectors,” the company says. “Taking proven technologies from our Pro AV range, they offer DuraCore laser in a small, virtually maintenance free product.”
