BenQ announces a pair of 4K home theatre DLP projectors-- the CinePrime W5700 and W2700, both featuring DCI-P3 colour for long-lasting CinematicColour with projector-optimised HDR-PRO support and individual factory colour calibration.

BenQ CinePrime projectorsThe W2700 is rated at 2000 lumens brightness, while the W5700 clocks at 1800. Both offer 3840 x 2160 resolution with 8.3 million distinct pixels via 4K-optimised optical system with 6 structured groups of all-glass lens elements. Meanwhile CinematicColour technology provides the W5700 with 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and 100% of Rec. 709. The W2700, on the other hand, covers 95% of DCI-P3 and 100% of Rec. 709, as backed by individual factory colour calibration to ensure Delta E=3 colour accuracy.

Proprietary HDR-PRO technology supports both HDR10 and HLG formats, and incorporates auto colour and tone mapping to offer superior brightness and contrast ranges, as well as ideal image optimisation. The addition of MEMC image interpolation allows for smooth, fast action. Dynamic contrast reaches 30000:1 in the W2700, while the W5700 is rated at 100000:1.

In terms of installation, the W2700 is a short-throw model with 1.3X zoom plus vertical shift. The W5700 is long-throw, with a 1.6X zoom and both horizontal and vertical image shift.

The W2700 and W5700 are available from April 2019.
