CEDIA releases an update of the ESC-D exam-- the test to earn the highest certification credential from the global organisation, brought about following a review and feedback process involving over 100 participants.
The ESC-D is targeted at industry veterans with at least 5 years of experience, particularly those with backgrounds as designers. The effort to update the ESC-D exam includes a Job Task Analysis Survey, beta exam and direct engagement from a core group of volunteers. The content of the exam also better alights with the scope and demands of the profession, and is crafted from a more global perspective.
"CEDIA undertook the revision after extensive examination of best practices for professional certifications," the organisation says. "The truly global collaboration that went into updating the ESC-D exam brought together a wide swath of key industry stakeholders. We offer a big thank you to the volunteers on the Certification Working Group for their many hours invested into this project. Passing the exam marks a significant career achievement for any CEDIA professional."
CEDIA recommends individuals interested in earning the ESC-D certification first earn the ESC-T certification. Over 50 people earned or renewed their ESC-D certification during a testing event in April. CEDIA provides an online toolkit to help prepare prospective test takers, including a Job Task Analysis & Exam Blueprint, Advanced Residential Electronic Systems Book, and Exam Preparation Resource Guide.
Exams will be on offer in conjunction with CEDIA training events and through international test centres.
