CEDIA announces Jeremy Burkhardt will be inducted to the CEDIA Fellows programme at CEDIA Expo 2019. The CEDIA Fellows programme honours long-time CEDIA members and volunteers who have contributed "significantly" to the association.

Burkhardt Origin

Burkhardt is, of course, well known as the chairman of Origin Acoustics, as well as the former CEO, architect and co-founder of SpeakerCraft. He has a history in the industry spanning over two decades, starting off as a custom installer before becoming an independent AV retailer. The experience lead him to realise deficiencies in products and installation practices, bringing about the creation of SpeakerCraft. The company grew into  the largest architectural speaker maker and brand in the industry before it was sold to Nortek for a record $58 million in 2004, and Burkhardt remained CEO until his retirement 2012.

In 2014 Burkhardt and his original SpeakerCraft business partners got together to launch Origin Acoustics at CEDIA Expo. Since then the company has found success within the channel, earning it and its products awards and accolades.

"Few can doubt Jeremy's foresight and vision-- he's helped shape and propel the architectural speaker category," CEDIA says. "Ultimately, his passion has built two brands that have incredible loyalty among their dealer base and have earned the love of homeowners around the world."

Burkhardt will be recognised at the CEDIA Expo Opening Keynote at the Colorado Convention Center on 11 September 2019.
