Kimber Kable Intros Carbon Interconnect

Kimber Kable celebrates its 40th anniversary with the launch of the Carbon Interconnect cable, the first in a Carbon Series of products aimed at audiophiles demanding the most natural musical performances.

Carbon interconnectThe Carbon in the names refers to an electrostatically dissipative carbon polymer used between the Teflon dielectric and VariStand 19.5 AWG conductors. The company says the manufacturing technology reduces mechanically induced electrical noise in the cable and improves the uniformity of the voltage gradient within the insulating dielectric.

Like other Kimber Kable products, the Carbon series features the easily recognisable braiding construction features. Building on the work done during the development of the Axios range, Kimber engineers say they perfected the use of a seamless braid transition to the left and right channel connectors, eliminating the need for soldered joints to aid signal transition and audio reproduction quality.

Carbon is fitted with WBT 0114 CU RCA plugs featuring a clamping mechanism similar to the chuck device in a drill, firmly clamping the outer contact against the RCA socket. Thus it not only offers a secure connection, but also minimises transition resistance. In addition it compensates for any size variation in the outer contact of a socket, ensuring a strong fit. Customers can also specify optional XLR connectors, as well as an upgrade to WBT 0114 Ag silver plated RCA plugs.

The Carbon Interconnect is hand-built to order, and is available now.
