McIntosh announces the MA352-- a second integrated amplifier from the company featuring a hybrid design bringing together both vacuum tube and solid-state audio design principles.

McIntosh MA352

The all-analog design has a vacuum tube preamplifier section powered by a pair of 12AX7A and a pair of 12AT7 vacuum tubes. The output stage is a direct coupled solid-state amplifier outputting 200W per channel into 8-ohm speakers or 320W per channel into 4-ohm speakers, making double the output of the previous McIntosh integrated amplifier, the MA252. Dual scale blue Watt speakers give an accurate power output readout for both speaker impedances.

The MA352 has two balanced and three unbalanced inputs, plus one Moving Magnet phono input with adjustable loading. Gold-plated speaker binding posts help prevent corrosion and ensure a good quality signal is sent to the speakers. A stereo preamp output connects a higher-powered amplifier or connects one or two powered subwoofers for added low frequency performance.

Being a McIntosh product the amplifier features a number of technologies from the company, such as Power Guard, Sentry Monitor, McIntosh Monogrammed Heatsinks, High Drive headphone amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD), 5-band analog tone control (each band adjustable by ± 12 dB), Home Theater Pass Through, Power Control, and Data Ports.

The unit sits in a polished stainless steel chassis and includes vintage McIntosh-style die-cast aluminium name badges affixed to each side. Also included are blue output meters, control knobs, an illuminated logo and a black glass front panel with direct LED backlighting. Customers can pair it with an assortment of CD players, turntables, tuners, media streamers and speakers to create a complete audio system.

The MA352 ships on September 2019.
