Emotiva launches a second flagship AV processor-- the RMC-1L, with precise video switching of HDR and DolbyVision 4K UHD video content and 16-channel audio to support object-oriented surround sound formats.
The RMC-1L promises to be best-in-price class, with 16 fully balanced channels (fixed) including an all-analog preamplifier section, precision 32-bit AD/DA conversion and advanced 4K UHD video management. Connectivity comes through x8 HDMI inputs and x2 HDMI outputs, all with support for the 2.0b feature set and HDCP 2.2.
Moving on to audio, the processor features full 16 channels of Dolby Atmos (up to 9.1.6) and DTS:X (7.1.4) surround sound. A separate high-performance AKM4490 Verita 32-bit DAC operating in fully balanced mono mode processes the decoded audio signal for each channel. Support is provided for native decoding of single- and double-rate DSD digital audio signals, accepted via either HDMI or USB sources.
A Reference Stereo mode creates a two-channel listening experience. An upgrade will add Dirac Live automatic room correction running on all 16 channels at a full 192kHz sample rate.
