Leviton announces a professionally-installed smart lighting control solution-- the Decora Smart wifi 4-button controller (part no. DW4BC), a multi-button wall station for the control of light fixtures and overhead ceiling fans.
The controller features 4 individual buttons installers can easily program for specific customer needs via My Leviton app. The buttons are compatible with the Leviton Decora Smart line of dimmers, switches and plug-in outlets for easy integration and control. The commands can control a single Decora Smart wifi device, such as having the top button turn on the overhead lights and an overhead fan in a badroom, while the bottom button turns them off.
Installers can also use the button commands to create room scenes such as "Movie Time" and whole-home activities such as "Go to Bed." Each of the four buttons features a vanishing feedback LED to provide visual indication when a button is pressed. A unique LED mode causes the LED to glow, allowing homeowners to see the buttons when the room is dar, and the LEDs can be switched off in the case of light-sensitive areas.
The controller does not connect directly to a light fixture. Instead, it sends commands to Decora Smart lighting products, including dimmers, switches and smart plugs throughout the entire home. It requires a neutral ground wire for installation, and a single My Leviton residence can handle up to 8 DW4BCs.
The Decora 4-button controller is available now. It ships in a white colour, but Leviton offers a range of colour change kits, including light almond, ivory, black, brown and gray.
