Samsung announces an outdoor addition to the lifestyle TV portfolio-- The Terrace, the first outdoor 4K QLED TV from the company promising to bring "the full indoor entertainment experience outside."
Available in 55-, 65- and 75-inch sizes, The Terrace brings QLED 4K display technology and smart TV features in a weather-resistant design complete with an IP55 rating against water and dust. To fight glare the display includes both an anti-reflection coating and adaptive picture technology, while maximum brightness reaches 2000 nits.
On the software side The Terrace runs on the Tizen-based Samsung Smart TV platform, with features such as the Samsung TV Plus online video service, the Samsung Health fitness platform and support for leading streaming services. Mobile viewing capabilities include Multi View and Tap View, and the TV supports multiple voice control services with Bixby, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Samsung says the TV offers dynamic sound right out of the box through built-in woofers, but in case customers want a further audio boost the company has the Terrace Soundbar-- an appropriately designed number featuring IP55 level durability. Customers can mount it either on a wall or directly to the TV, and it promises to bring a "truly immersive" home theatre experience outdoors.
The Terrace is available now in N. America, with rollout to European territories to follow later in 2020.
