Extron starts shipping the DXP HD 4K PLUS series-- HDMI matrix switchers with support for signals up to 4K/60 with 4:4:4 chroma sampling and the full HDMI 2.0b feature set.

Gefen starts shipping 6 products making part of the gen. 2.0 AV-over-IP line-- including models handling the DVI VM, VGA KVM and audio-only input and output formats.

The Gen 2.0 KVM line claims 4K UHD with HDR support, built-in scalers, video wall control, independent USB, RS232, IR, audio routing and backward-compatibility with 1st generation products. A KM Emulation feature facilitates real-time, simultaneous keyboard and mouse control of each source from all connected workstations, eliminating the inherent limitations of earlier systems. HDMI and DisplayPort products feature maximum input resolution of 4K 60 Hz 4:2:0, and maximum output resolution of 4K 30 Hz 4:4:4. HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 are also supported. Smart-e follows on last year's 4K-TX940 HDBaseT HDCP 2.2 splitter with the 4K-TX941-- an enhanced version able to transmit RS232 signals over the same CAT 6 cable distributing the 4K HDMI signals.

Peerless-AV presents a wireless HD transmission system-- the PeerAir Wireless HD Multimedia System (HDS-WHDI100), a means to send 1080p video up to 33m, even through walls, ceilings and other boundaries.

The PeerAir system creates an own 802.11n wireless network. The enhanced version adds a metal case design and external directional antennas to provide a reliable and robust signal. Installation promises to be plug-and-play, while the receiver gets an IR extender allowing customers to store it out of sight.

The system is ideal for both residential and commercial applications. In residential settings, the PeerAir allows the installation of TVs in tough-to-wire locations without need to cut through walls to hide HDMI cables. Also included is HDMI passthrough, allowing source devices to display content on a hardwired TV while streaming the same content to a remote TV, eliminating the need for an extra cable box.
