Antiference brings a number of recently developed products at ISE 2018, ranging from HDMI distribution to wireless access points and digital modulators.

The wireless access point and extender rabge covers a variety of environments, and is programmable via onboard software designed for use with a laptop, smartphone or tablet. Meanwhile the HDMI range offers more HDCP 2.2-compatible products, including a compact HDBaseT 4x4 matrix for up to 70m and a variety of HDCP 2.2 splitters (available in 2-, 4- and 8-way models).

The SDVoE Alliance announces its latest adopting member-- Savant, who will demonstrate the SVDoE-based IP Video line at ISE 2018.

Savant IP Video products deliver 4K video (including 4K/60 4:4:4 HDR) over IP with zero frame latency. As with all SDVoE products, the line uses a 10GbE switch, but it also allows for installations ranging from 2 to 128 zones. New products in the line include the Savant IP Video 4 and 8 input video transmitters, as well as the Savant IP Video output receivers available with either fibre or copper.

Versions of the Savant product even include on-board DSP processing to manage the conversion of Dolby and DTS to stereo down-mixing, enabling the support of residential applications ranging from home theatres to kitchen TV via single integrated hardware/software platform.

WyreStorm announces the ISE 2018 reveal of the H2XC Series modular HDBaseT 5Play 4K with integrated audio DSP matrix switchers, featuring a selection of customisable multi-format, multi-platform transmission cards.

An evolution of the H2X series, the H2XC offers more pro AV and large residential options for the distribution of multi-source 4K UHD with HDR and legacy video formats. It also handles multi-source audio matrix switching to multiple zones, including SmartTV function and audio on-demand products.

Like the parent model, the H2XC includes proprietary SmartEDID technology to dynamically remove conflicts when combining 1080p and 4K screens within the same installation. An integrated audio matrix with powerful DSP routes up to 3 separate audio signals per transmission card (depending on card), including ARC, HDMI de-embed from video and separate line-level audio only sources.

Sigma Designs announces the 700-Series Z-Wave platform at CES 2018-- a chip the solution provider claims can squeeze 10 years of use from a single coin-cell battery.

As well as being low power, the 700-Series chip offers a range of over 90m, meaning it can cover multi-stories in a house and the far end of the yard. It carries all the hardware required, including integrated software tools, large memory and many peripherals, making it both efficient and future proof.

Security is also covered thanks to the Z-Wave Security 2 (S2) framework, while Z-Wave SmartStart pre-configures to the network before reaching the home.

Luxul announces the ISE 2018 debut of the Epic 3 (XWR-3150)-- a dual-band wireless AC3100 router with built-in Domotz remote management, Router Limits content management and roam assist technologies.

The Epic 3 uses 4x4 MIMO (Wave 2) technology to deliver wireless data at up to 3100Mbps for fast streaming and bandwidth-intensive applications. The router offers a full feature set, with an easy-to-use interface and capabilities ensuring optimal network performance, scalability and security, including firewall, QoS, virtual local area network (VLAN) support and virtual private network (VPN).

The ZigBee Alliance and Thread announce what is described as a a solution to the fragmentation of the connected device industry-- Dotdot, an open, interoperable IoT language running over the Thread IP network.

According to the two companies, the IoT currently faces the same challenges as the early internet since connected devices lack the equivalent of open, universal protocols over IP. Dotdot, as a common device language over the Thread IP network, promises to be the solution to such woes, providing "the high-quality, interoperable user experiences needed to drive growth."

Dotdot is not a new standard. Instead it allows the ZigBee standard to work on the Thread network. Both standards are backed by industry-leading companies, and already find use in homes and offices. As such, Dotdot simply extends IP to low-power IoT devices, providing an option in end-to-end connectivity and interoperability.
