Global Caché starts shipping two new means to connect almost any electrical device to wifi and/or IP networks-- the Flex Link Relay & Sensor cable and the Flex IP with Power over Ethernet (PoE).

The Flex Link Relay & Sensor cable supports 4 configurable contact closure outputs and 4 configurable voltage and contact closure sensor inputs. It pairs with an iTach Flex wifi/IP unit to instantly put a variety of relay devices onto wired or wireless networks, with sensor input for state reporting of connected devices.

The enclosure mounts directly on a DIN rail for simple integration with external relays.

System installers wanting to embed "tried and true" configurations into router firmware can now do so via Pakedge and the newly launched Custom Engineering Program.

Pakedge Custom Engineering promises to a be more robust alternative to loading a preconfigured file, as the configurations are burned directly into the firmware. As a result installers can still tweak configurations on a customised router, and hitting the factory default button reverts back to the original customisation.

Customised routers can also speed and automate network installations by ensuring networks are instantly set to the unique specifications of the project in question, be it residential or commercial, market segment or application specific. One can even co-brand their logo into the router GUI and even the unit label.

The Pakedge Device & Software router kit lineup get the addition of the RE2 router, as well as Pakedge switch technology designed specifically for AV and automation applications.

Customers can pair the RE2 router with one of two managed switch options-- the enterprise-class 8-port S8Hav or the "reliable" 8-port S8Mpd. Both switches are fibre compatible.

Pakedge says the RE2 router carries enterprise-grade components, and includes a virtual DMZ, 3 dedicated LAN ports, 1 dedicated WAN port and another one can configure either way. It also features free DNS functionality and is BakPak Cloud Management compatible.

Netgear launches a pair of next generation powerline adapter packages-- the Powerline 1200 (PL1200) and Powerline 1200 + Extra Outlet Adapter Kit (PLP1200), first seen back at CES 2015.

According to the company the kits deliver networking at up to 1.2Gbps with HomePlug AV2 compliance and support for multiple simultaneous data streams (MIMO) with Beamforming technology, making them ideal for video streaming, online gaming or whole-home video monitoring.

Further features include lug-and-play setup, automatic powering down when not in use and encryption capability. The PLP1200 package also includes a noise-filtered pass-through power outlet allowing customers to power devices as well as provide internet through the same socket.

Pakedge Device & Software announces a pair of switch offerings-- the SE-8P and SE-8P4, two plug-and-play SE series switches designed for use with more simple networks with no need for advanced bandwidth management.

The two switches replace the earlier S8Pe and S8P4e, which currently are at the end of their lives. They can automatically discover connected devices before integrating them into the network, a task Pakedge takes just "seconds."

The SE-8P is an 8 port gigabit ethernet switch able to handle either 8 ports of PoE or 4 ports of PoE+. The SE-8P4 is similar, but handles either 4 ports of PoE or 2 ports of PoE+.

The Zigen ZIG-POE-70 is an HDBaseT transmitter/receiver set able to transmit HDMI signals together with RS232, IR control and Power over Ethernet (PoE) for up to 70m over a single category cable.

It handles video at up to 4K/UHD @ 60Hz with embedded multi-channel audio and remote 48V power for the receiver, and provides bi-directional extension of 12V IR (IR receiver included) and RS232 commands.

The set is HDCP 2.2 compliant and supports EDID communication.
