Pakedge Adds RE2 Router to Kits

The Pakedge Device & Software router kit lineup get the addition of the RE2 router, as well as Pakedge switch technology designed specifically for AV and automation applications.

Pakedge R2Customers can pair the RE2 router with one of two managed switch options-- the enterprise-class 8-port S8Hav or the "reliable" 8-port S8Mpd. Both switches are fibre compatible.

Pakedge says the RE2 router carries enterprise-grade components, and includes a virtual DMZ, 3 dedicated LAN ports, 1 dedicated WAN port and another one can configure either way. It also features free DNS functionality and is BakPak Cloud Management compatible.

Netgear PowerlineAccording to the company the kits deliver networking at up to 1.2Gbps with HomePlug AV2 compliance and support for multiple simultaneous data streams (MIMO) with Beamforming technology, making them ideal for video streaming, online gaming or whole-home video monitoring.

Further features include lug-and-play setup, automatic powering down when not in use and encryption capability. The PLP1200 package also includes a noise-filtered pass-through power outlet allowing customers to power devices as well as provide internet through the same socket.

The SE-8P is an 8 port gigabit ethernet switch able to handle either 8 ports of PoE or 4 ports of PoE+. The SE-8P4 is similar, but handles either 4 ports of PoE or 2 ports of PoE+.
