Atlona announces a license feature update to the OmniStream AV-over-IP line-- one enabling the distribution of 4K video with Dolby Vision HDR over standard 1 gigabit ethernet networks.

Dolby Vision is one of the leaders in terms of potential to deliver the best possible HDR viewing experience. However the extension and distribution of 4K video with Dolby Vision HDR is a substantial challenge for installers and manufacturers. Currently AV-over-IP systems offer HDR10 or HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma), but not Dolby Vision, and some HDBaseT systems include video compression for 4K HDR, and while compatible with Dolby Vision are only at 24 or 31Hz.

ProVideoInstruments announces the VuMATRIX-- a plug-and-play receiver and transmitter set complete with wireless control through the ProVideoInstruments companion application.

The VuMATRIX is a 4K receiver and transmitter set able to distribute HDMI over an existing 1Gb network. With expansion capabilities, the VuMATRIX allows users to connect a transmitter for each source, together with a receiver unit for each TV on the network. Thus, it is a 1Gb way to distribute 4K HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 over an IP network.

Comprehensive Connectivity Company launches the CHE-HDF18G01-- an HDMI 18G fibre extender TX/RX kit able to send signals up to 1005m, with support for resolutions up to 4K60 (4:2:0) using HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2.

The extender is designed to convert a full HDMI signal to a fibre signal, which can be transmitted over 1005m using single mode fibre cable or 300m over multi-mode fibre cable. It also supports 4K2K@30Hz, 1080p@120Hz and 1080p 3D@60Hz, as well as up to 7.1 channels of high definition audio (LPCM, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio).

CEDIA Expo 2018 sees Just Add Popwer (J+P) demonstrate the 3G UltraHD over IP series Daisy Chain Receiver and launch Just OS, a family of firmware and app-based solutions for video distribution control and management over any network.

The VBS-HDIP-3G 509POE Daisy Chain Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) receiver distributes UHD and 4K video over a single Cat-5e cable. An onboard passthrough network port allows the connection of any PoE device-- a network soundbar, IPTV control or single display location can be expanded into a video wall. The receiver also expands the number of PoE one can add to the system by connecting a PoE switch to the port.

Arris announces the VAP4641 wireless extender-- the first product certified by the Wifi Alliance for EasyMesh, the recently launched common standard allowing mesh routers from different vendors to seamlessly interoperate with each other.

Part of the HomeAssure wifi product range, the VAP4641 is a wall plug mounted extender. It features 4x4 antennas and 802.11ac capability, and leverages EasyMesh to extend wifi over greater distances at faster speeds. EasyMesh certification also means customers will be able to use the VAP4641 with other certified products, at least once networking vendors start releasing them.

Luxul sets to unveil a variety of products for the connected home at CEDIA Expo 2018, including wireless products, next-generation L2/L3 managed switches and other solution-based innovations.

For AV-over-IP video distribution systems, Luxul L2/L3 managed switches on show at CEDIA will include the 26-port gigabit AMS-2600, 26-port/24 PoE+ stackable AMS-4424P, 25-port gigabit PoE+ XMS-5248P and 52-port stackable gigabit PoE+ XMS-7048P. For network expansion, the stackable AMS-4424P and XMS-708P offer x2 gigabit SFP+ ports for seamless scalability and management of up to 16 switches, for a total of 384 ports and 800 ports respectively.

In addition, the AMS-2600 includes x2 gigabit RJ-45/SFP combo ports, while the XMS-5248P features x2 gigabit SFP ports. The PoE+ ports of the AMS-4424P, XMS-5248P and XMS-7048P are perfect for expanding networks utilising PoE-enabled devices, such as touchpanels, VoIP devices, IP cameras and wireless access points.
