Savant announces the addition of new products and features included in the 8.7 software and hardware update, one complete with TrueImage for Savant Pro, coloured lighting and IP Video products.

The Savant Pro 8 app on the iOS App Store now includes support for TrueImage, the system leveraging on Savant virtual lighting concept to allow users to experience virtual lights in any room on their mobile devices. Users can easily change dimming levels and RGB colours by tapping the virtual light. Installers or users simply need to photograph the light using the mobile device, press the button and TrueImage takes care of the rest. Speaking of TrueImage, Savant has a new line of coloured smart bulbs and LED light strips compatible with the Savant 8 app.

Integrated Systems Europe 2018 will premier a range of new show initiatives to make the 15th edition of the world’s largest AV and systems integration show the most compelling so far.

The move has come as the show organisers Integrated Systems Events and its association co-owners AVIXA and CEDIA, focus on adding ever more value to the ISE experience.

Launching on the day before ISE 2018 opens its doors, the TIDE (Technology. Innovation. Design. Experience.) conference, produced by AVIXA, is a one day event, which will take place at the Okura Hotel, a few minutes’ walk from the RAI Amsterdam. TIDE will explore the creative forces and business decisions shaping the AV industry and how businesses can leverage these concepts. The TIDE conference will focus on Design Thinking for Business. The conference programme will be applicable to all design professionals, end customers and AV channel delegates.

CEDIA announces the annual State of the Association Webinar takes place on 12 December. The event highlights achievement from 2017, shares key strategic initiatives for 2018, and discusses the 2016 audited financials.

The even is for both EMEA and US-based members, and features CEDIA chairperson Dennis Erskine, CEDIA treasurer Giles Sutton, CEDIA acting president and CEO Tabatha O'Connor, and VP of emerging technologies Dave Pedigo.

The HDMI Forum announces version 2.1 of the HDMI specification-- an update promising support for a range of higher video resolutions and refresh rates, including 8K60 and 4K120.

Version 2.1 handles resolutions up to 10K, together with dynamic HDR formats. Bandwidth capability is increased to 48Gbps through a Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable able to handle uncompressed 8K video with HDR with exceptionally low EMI (electro-magnetic interference) and backwards compatibility with existing HDMI devices.

CEDIA announces CEDIA Certification exams will be available through Kryterion Global Testing Solutions, a provider of assessment and certification services with over 1000 testing centres worldwide.

“It has been a long-standing goal of CEDIA to make our certification exams more accessible to our members around the world,” the organisation says. “Members who previously could only take certification exams at the CEDIA show or at another CEDIA training event now have the flexibility to take the exam close to home.”
