WyreStorm Intros 4K, PoE HDBaseT Extenders

  • PDF

WyreStorm launches the EX-1UTP-IR-100-EDID and EX-1UTP-IR-100-POE, a pair of HDBaseT extenders able to transmit HD (one can do up to 4K resolution), audio and video, ethernet, control and power over up to 100m of Cat5e/6 cable.

WyreStorm extenderThe extenders provide a more stable, easier-to-install alternative over long HDMI cable runs with the benefit of 2-way IR, RS-232 control, 10/100 ethernet pass through via single cable and support for multi-channel DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby Digital True HD.

To alleviate handshaking issues both models feature forcible EDID settings via dipswitch, allowing installers to either copy EDID from display to receiver or force 1080p 3D, 1080p Stereo, 1080i Stereo or 1080p 5.1 Multi-Channel EDID.

Each model also features HDMI pass through on the transmitting end to connect an additional display near the source.

According to WyreStorm the EX-1UTP-IR-100-POE allows uncompressed transmission of 36-bit 1080p video together with PoE. The  EX-1UTP-IR-100-EDID requires a 5V power supply at both transmission and receiver ends, but adds uncompressed 4K/UHD video support.

AVFoundry Ships HDMI Test Pattern Generator

  • PDF

AVFoundry starts shipping the VideoForge-- a portable test pattern generator installers can use either independently or incorporate with Spectracal CalMAN software.

VideoForgeIt provides an HDMI output and the video signals needed for the testing, calibration and servicing of HD displays (including 3D displays) with 3 distinct control interfaces.

First the VideoForge uses an XML-RPC control interface for automated control. Second it features an Adobe Flash-based control panel for interactive control. Finally one can control the VideoForge with programmable IR remote for standalone operations.

Every test pattern can be displayed in a 3D video format, with patterns showing the same image in both left/right eye frames and true stereo patterns available from JPG and PNG files on SD card.

Meanwhile independent on/off left and right eye image gating allows for stereo separation or left/right crosstalk testing and measurement.
