NuVo Technologies releases a new home music server that includes more than 3X the capacity of its predecessor. The NV-M3-500 Music Server includes 500GB of storage capacity, enough to hold most large music collections.

The company’s earlier server, the NV-M3 Music Server, held 160GB; that server remains on the market. The new server will be released in June.

The name conjures images from the TV show “Survivor,” and indeed the OutCast is a survivor: it can survive all-weather outdoors. A weather-resistant speaker with a wireless iCast transmitter (tailored to needs of iPod owners.), OutCast is designed to work up to 10 hours on a built-in, rechargeable battery.

It features a 8” down-firing woofer and four high frequency drivers in an omni-directional array with a 100w digital amp and Soundcast receiver. There’s an input jack for MP3 players in case guests want to play their music at your party.

axxent introduces a new one-channel, 400 W amplifier in a 2 RU, 19” chassis.
The amplifier features a low impedance output, as well as 50/70/100 volt constant voltage outputs.

Under normal working conditions, the amplifier operates quietly with its passive convection cooling. When the maximum performance is required and its passive cooling ribs exceed a given temperature, a quiet and controlled fan aids the cooling system.

All output connectors are fully touch proof isolated to comply with European Safety Standard EN60065.  The only front control is the gain potentiometer.  The knob of this potentiometer may be removed and sealed against operating error.  Power switch is on the rear of the amplifier as well as an IEC connector for AC power.

Warranty on the AX-1400T Power Amplifier is six years.  The amplifier has been designed in Germany and is being manufactured in the EU.

Airsound LLP, founded to develop and promote spatial sound technology, and to license the technology to sound equipment manufacturers and users, says the AIRSOUND™ Principle “ …is applicable to any size loudspeaker unit and so has universal application wherever sound is reproduced.”

Airsound LLP has employed its unique airSOUND single-point-stereo reproduction technology in a new design schematic that provides full spatial stereo sound from a single, fully flush, in-wall or in-ceiling enclosure. The resultant Walls of Sound™ patented design affords all of the advantages of wall mounted speakers without the any of the signal quality problems associated with placement and positioning.

The airSOUND stereo signal is not produced by DSP processing or any kind of artificial effect, but is true stereo sound resulting from the encoding of ‘direct’ and ‘spatial’ signals, rather than separate left and right channel signals. In the Walls of Sound design, a centrally positioned ‘spatial generator’ radiates the spatial signal across the main signal drivers.
