Epson announces the Home Cinema 4000-- a projector using the company's 4K Enhancement technology to display 4K content from three (R, G, B) native 1920x1080 LCDs using a pixel-shining technique.

Home Cinema 4000The projector features a 140000:1 contrast ratio and brightness clocking at 2200, and supports HDR10. Powering such projection is a 3LCD engine able to achieve wide colour gamut covering the entire Rec. 709 and DCI-P3 colour spaces, while a smart motorised lens has 10 presents for powered focus, zoom and lens shift.

Optoma Intros Native 4K UHD60, UHD65 Projectors

Optoma announces the UHD60 and UHD65-- a pair of native 4K projectors with a price tag under $2500, both featuring 3840 x 2160 resolution and HDR compatibility using HDR10.

Optoma projectorThe projectors also include REC.2020 wide colour gamut and DCI-P3 coverage, as well as vertical lens shift and 1.6x zoom. Connectivity comes through x2 HDMI inputs and x1 HDCP 2.2 port.

The lower-priced UHD60 offers 3000 lumens brightness and 1000000:1 contrast ration with Dynamic Black enabled, and comes inside a white chassis. Meanwhile the UHD65 has 2200 lumens brightness, 1200000:1 contrast ratio with Dynamic Black enabled and Cinematic colour via HDR compatibility and RGBRGB colour wheel, all inside a black chassis.

LG Debuts ProBeam Laser Projector

LG announces a more affordable laser projector option-- the ProBeam, a compact projector (weighs around 2kg) capable of beaming a 120-inch picture at up to 2000 lumens brightness.

LG ProbeamThe ProBeam handles 1920 x 1080 resolution images, and offers a vertical auto keystone alignment feature the company claims automatically detects and corrects screen image distortion. Bluetooth audio out allows users to pair with any wireless audio product, such as an external speaker or headphones.

Further connectivity includes x2 HDM, x2 USB and ethernet ports.

The Biggest Draper Thin Bezel Screen

Draper announces the Profile+-- the biggest 1.3cm-thin bezel screen from the company, set to make an official debut at InfoComm 2017.

Draper Profile+The Profile+ fixed screen includes a 1.3cm-thin bezel framing any Draper flexible viewing surface. It is available in sizes up to 9.1mt wide, as well as stadnard 16:9, 16:10 and CinemaScope 2:35.1 aspect ratios, providing the biggest flat panel look.

The company adds the frame is light and easy to assemble, thanks to a new sliding hook-and-loop viewing surface attachment simple. The Profile+ comes with a Zero Edge option, and can be wall-mounted or flown, with optional LEDs framing it with thousands of colour possibilities to offset the picture and provide extra flash.

Draper Tackles Ambient Light With TecVision

Draper TecvisionThe Draper TecVision CH1200X ALR is a grey surface designed to address ambient light rejection (ALR) applications, making it ideal for environments with high ambient light and controlled viewing angles.

Draper says the screen has an ALR rating of 20, and rejects 80% of ambient light not produced by the projector. A high-contrast surface helps black retention, while a 1.2 gain surface helps brighten images in sizes up to 67 feet wide. Also included are a light-absorbing dark backing to prevent picture degradation from light being the screen and a non-perforated surface.

More Colours for SI Zero-G "Rollable TV"

Screen Innovations (SI) presents more colour options for the Zero-G "rollable TV" screen, including sky blue, forest green and warm gray (beige).

SI Zero-GInitially available in white, the Zero-G is different from other projection screens due to the absence of a black mask between the top of the viewing surface and the case. Instead, the screen is suspended by Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMwPE) cable. It is the cable that is getting more colours, allowing installers to blend the screen with the decor they are working it, be it a wall, window or art-deco piece.
