Epson announces the Home Cinema 1450-- a 3CD native 1080p (1920 x 1080) 4200 lumen projector aimed at home theatre or home entertainment applications.

It features x2 HDMI ports, x1 MHL 3 port and component vidoe, as well as USB. Also included are 4 different preset colour modes, the ability to watch 2 sources side-by-side at the same time, built-in 16W speaker, wireless streaming via MHL from Roku or Chromecast, and a quick power on/off feature.

Screen Innovations (SI) presents the Zero-G-- a projection screen designed to give the illusion of a screen floating in mid-air, and is able to disappear when not in use.

The Zero-G screen is available in a choice of screen materials, including the Slate ALR material able to block out 65% of ambient light, with gain options of 1.2 and 0.8 for optimal contrast. It is motorised, and rolls out of the way when not in use. Customers can colour-match the cables to a number of proprietary colour options, thus matching surrounding walls or background colour.

Mobile World Congress 2017 has Sony unveil a surprise device-- the Xperia Touch is an Android-powered projector able to turn any surface into a touchscreen while acting as a digital hub of sorts.

As the company puts it, the Xperia Touch can put all kinds of information, including calendar, weather data and a "memo board," on a single interface. The idea is family members input events and leave notes on the interface for all to see, turning it into a digital notice board for the home. Google Assistant provides voice control, and the built-in battery promises around 1 hour of use on a single charge.

The projector also carries a 13MP camera and speakers, allowing it to handle Skype video chats, while SXRD projection technology detects gestures and taps. Maximum projection sizes reaches 80-inch at 1366 x 768 resolution, and images can be projected on both vertical and horizontal surfaces.

BenQ presents the HT8050-- a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) single-chip DLP 4K UHD home cinema projector complete with THX UHD Display certification.

The company says such certification guarantees the HT8050 accurately reproduces content the way the director intended. Requiring 10 times as much data analysis and 7 times the engineering effort and resources in precise colour and gamma adjustments for pure Rec. 709 compliance, the HT8050 is the result of over 18 months of rigorous development and 200 THX laboratory tests covering over 500 data points to ensure  strict colour accuracy, precise gamma, ideal colour temperature, enhanced uniformity and super high native contrast ratio for THX certification.

Draper starts shipping the Profile+-- a fixed screen with a bezel frame 1.3cm thin available in sizes up to 9.1m wide for what the company calls the industry's biggest "flat panel look."

The  frame is lighter and easy to assemble thanks a new sliding hook-and-loop viewing surface attachment system. Optional LED lights frame the Profile+ with thousands of colour possibilities, and Draper also offers a Zero Edge option.

Stewart Filmscreen announces the Phantom HALR-- a High Ambient Light Rejecting screen material designed for fixed-frame wallscreen or electric roller screen applications, ideal for use both during the day or night.

Phantom HALR is seamless in sizes up to 12.1m by 27.4m, and can be perforated for acoustic transperancy through Stewart Filmscreen's Cinemaperf or Microperf X2 Ultra technology. In addition the company says the screen is not susceptible to colour shift, and calibrates out to REC 2020 or REC 709 without colour aberrations skewing the primary and secondary colours.
