Sweam is a TI DLP mobile projector with a touch screen, built-in 4G, Android operating system and wi-fi. This means you can download any apps of your choice and stream video wherever you want.

Sweam is an easy-to-use stand-alone projector, small enough to fit into a jacket pocket, providing both sideward and upward projection.

You won’t need to connect this projector to a phone or a computer. It has its own 4G connection and wi-fi.

Hisense Intros 80-inch Laser TVs

Hisense announces a (relatively) lower-cost Laser TV-- the L5 Laser TV, essentially a short-throw projector with a built-in over-the-air (OTA) tuner and speakers able to beam an 80-inch image.

Hisense laser TVThe L5 is a smaller version of the 100L8D, a laser TV able to project a 100-inch 4K resolution image. Launched globally just in time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the L5 promises 400 nit brightness and ships complete with a "custom-made" DNP high gain anti-light hard screen promising a clear imagery no matter the ambient light conditions.

The Optoma Projector with Alexa Control

Optoma announces the UHD51A-- the first projector from the company with integrated Amazon Alexa, providing customers with voice control of projection, audio, screen, lighting and room settings.

Optoma AlexaAlexa capability comes via SmartProjection for Smart Home skill. It allows users to power the projector on and off, change volume and input source, and control the USB 4K UHD media player.

As for the projector itself, it offers 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution images with 2400 lumens brightness, 500000:1 contrast ratio and HDR10 with Rec.20202/DCI-P3 wide colour gamut support. It also features a built-in 4K UHD HDR media player and Android OS, along with x2 HDMI 2.0 inputs with HDCP 2.2 and MHL 2.1 support.

Draper announces the TecVision XH800X UST ALR and CS1000X ALR-- a pair of additions to the TecVision line of ISF-certified 8K-ready viewing surfaces.

Draper surfaceSet for an InfoComm 2018 debut, the TecVision XH800X UST ALR is a premium ambient light rejecting surface aimed for use with ultra-short throw (UST) and short throw projectors in moderate to high ambient light applications. It promises to reject 57% of off axis ambient light, while still supporting wide viewing angles. Available in NanoPerf up to 2.5m image height, the surface works works with lens throw distance ratio up to 0.25:1 or longer for best brightness uniformity.

Screen Innovations Adds Zero Edge Pro Screen

Screen Innovations (SI) updates the Zero Edge screen with the Zero Edge Pro-- offering 36 screens in one and three bezel options, namely Small (0.5-inch), Medium (1.5-inch) or Large (2-inch).

Zero Edge ProThe Medium and Large options come in a choice of 12 colours with either a hand-wrapped velvet inlay or complete velvet wrapping. Available colours are the same as those recently introduced on the SI Solo Pro lithium-powered motorised screens.

Zero Edge Pro is available with SI LED backlighting options, another feature from the original Zero Edge screens. New backlighting options are available, including an IP-controlled solutions customers can integrate with the Philips Hue smart lighting ecosystem.
