ViewSonic Launches 3500 Lumens PX747-4K Projector

ViewSonic presents what it claims is a first high brightness DLP 4K UHD home projector-- the PX747-4K, a projector capable of beaming 3840 x 2160 resolution images at 3500 lumens brightness.

Viewsonic projectorThe PX747-4K uses SuperColor technology to deliver "intense" colour reproduction, while Texas Instruments XPR technology provides high contrast and 8.3 million pixels for super-sharp big screen images. The projector is HDR-compatible, while the 3500 lumens brightness and 12000:1 contrast ratio ensures sharp details in both bright or dark environments. Image adjustment comes through 1.2x optical zoom.

The First JVC 4K DLP Projector

JVC is the next company to take on 4K DLP technology with the LX-UH1-- a more affordable single-chip projector featuring a 0.47-inch TRP digital micromirror devices (DMP) aimed at home cinema use.

JVC UH1The LX-UH1 uses an RGBRGB colour wheel to cover 100% of the Rec. 709 colour space. It also downscales wider colour gamuts, and is compatible with both HDR10 and HLG HDR formats. Customers can engage a two-position automatic aperture when viewing HDR content, allowing more dynamic imagery.

Optoma announces a lower-cost 4K projector option-- the UHD51, a single chip DLP projector featuring Texas Instruments XPR technology aimed for use as a UHD home theatre display.

Sony Presents Pocket-Size MP-CD1 Projector

Sony launches a pocket-size option for customers wanting a portable projector solution-- the MP-CD1, a projector measuring just 8cm and 15cm able to beam a 120-inch image from 3.45m distance.

Sony MP-CD1First presented back at CES 2018, the MP-CD1 projects 854 x 480 resolution images at 105 lumens brightness. Texas Instruments DLP IntelliBright processing technology promises to boost brightness without compromising battery consumption, with a dynamic mode boosting projection brightness and saturation. An auto keystone correction system adjusts the image in case the projector is not on a flat surface, correcting the image to eliminate lean.

Vivitek Presents Qumi Q38 Pico Projector

Vivitek announces an addition to the Qumi LED pocket projector series-- the Q38, a projector weighing just 750g able to project 1080p resolution images up to 130-inch in size.
