More Colours for SI Zero-G "Rollable TV"

Screen Innovations (SI) presents more colour options for the Zero-G "rollable TV" screen, including sky blue, forest green and warm gray (beige).

SI Zero-GInitially available in white, the Zero-G is different from other projection screens due to the absence of a black mask between the top of the viewing surface and the case. Instead, the screen is suspended by Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMwPE) cable. It is the cable that is getting more colours, allowing installers to blend the screen with the decor they are working it, be it a wall, window or art-deco piece.

SI Slate, Pure Screens Now in MicroPerf

Screen Innovations (SI) announces the Slate and Pure screens are now available in acoustically transparent MicroPerf material, improving on the projection experience.

Screen Innovations AT“Hiding your speakers behind the screen is another way that this is accomplished-allowing the sound to improve your viewing experience but not detract from your visual experience,” the company says. “It has not been easy. Perforating is difficult in its own right, but working with a 106” tall material is nearly impossible. We are perforating over 28000, .55mm holes for every square foot-- clearly a daunting task.”

Screen Innovations (SI) presents the Zero-G-- a projection screen designed to give the illusion of a screen floating in mid-air, and is able to disappear when not in use.

Zero-G screenThe Zero-G screen is available in a choice of screen materials, including the Slate ALR material able to block out 65% of ambient light, with gain options of 1.2 and 0.8 for optimal contrast. It is motorised, and rolls out of the way when not in use. Customers can colour-match the cables to a number of proprietary colour options, thus matching surrounding walls or background colour.

Sony Intros Android-Powered Xperia Touch Projector

Mobile World Congress 2017 has Sony unveil a surprise device-- the Xperia Touch is an Android-powered projector able to turn any surface into a touchscreen while acting as a digital hub of sorts.

Xperia TouchAs the company puts it, the Xperia Touch can put all kinds of information, including calendar, weather data and a "memo board," on a single interface. The idea is family members input events and leave notes on the interface for all to see, turning it into a digital notice board for the home. Google Assistant provides voice control, and the built-in battery promises around 1 hour of use on a single charge.

The projector also carries a 13MP camera and speakers, allowing it to handle Skype video chats, while SXRD projection technology detects gestures and taps. Maximum projection sizes reaches 80-inch at 1366 x 768 resolution, and images can be projected on both vertical and horizontal surfaces.
