Maverick’s specialist lamp business, Hotlamps presented its first-ever Hotlamps Performance Award, to NEC in recognition of the outstanding levels of service and reliability delivered over the past year.

Hotlamps measures the performance of all its regular suppliers on a regular basis and NEC shows consistently high levels of performance, says Waseem Ghos, Hotlamps Business Manager.

“NEC’s service delivery has been exceptional in every respect. Hotlamps needs to deliver large volumes of lamps next day anywhere in Europe, and we need suppliers who are able to step up to the mark and offer the levels of service required to meet such a commitment. NEC has excelled in all the areas we measure on a regular basis, including availability, service levels, lead-time accuracy and overall sales performance.”

Accepting the award for NEC, Channel Director Neil Hartigan, stated: “It is refreshing to see a distributor taking the time and trouble to evaluate the performance of its suppliers and recognise good performance. Moreover, we are particularly pleased with the outstanding growth in business that Hotlamps has achieved for our business over the past 12 months.”

CEDIA at ISE 2011

Region 1 Chairman Robert Hallam tells rAVe Europe Web TV at ISE 2011 CEDIA is increasing its education programs and benefits throughout non-English speaking parts of Europe, offering its EST II certification exam in multiple languages throughout the show.

CEDIA ISEIt's a "tremendously successful" ISE 2011 for all involved, Hallam says-- with an increase in growth that hopefully should continue through the entire industry this year.

CEDIA also has its technology show-- the Home Technology Event-- this June. Sitting between ISE at CEDIA USA's show, the UK event will have 13 new exhibitors as it focuses on the residential market. Hallam says the event is getting "significant" support, and the organisation hopes for a larger attendance as a result of the knock-on effect seen at ISE rippling through the industry.

Also on the calendar is CEDIA's Awards event-- with entries throughout CMEA and beyond.

Hallam says CEDIA wants to continue offering value for its members-- both through education and outreaching to other groups, like the Intellect group (whose members include the likes of Sony, Intel, Sky and BT).

This year's ISE opens as the show's largest yet, with 12 halls set over a floor area of 54000 square metres-- an 11% rise over 2010.

ISE 2011The show houses over 700 exhibitors, with 100 new to ISE. Exhibitors come from building automation, unified communications, event production, digital signage, visualisation and lighting control.

The organisers say attendance numbers are also on the rise, with pre-registration levels 15-20% over last year. From what we've seen at the show itself, the first day did show a healthy visitor presence throughout.

With InfoComm and CEDIA offering on-site certification and a dedicated 3D theatre amongst plenty of other attractions, ISE 2011 is set on a strong course over its next 2 days. If you're at the show, make sure to visit us at Hall 2's IP Pavilion!
