Sylvania smart bulbLighting vendor Ledvance presents the Sylvania Smart Multicolor A19-- a HomeKit-enabled smart bulb customers can control via Siri or Home app, without need for a separate hub controller.

Installation promises to be very easy, since one simply needs to screw the bulb in place before syncing with HomeKit. The bulb works when users are both inside or outside the home, with a connected Apple TV or iOS 10-enabled iPad acting as a hub for remote control. Customers can combine the Sylvania smart bulbs with other HomeKit-enabled devices to create custom scenes through the Home app, such as an "I'm on my way home" command activating lights, unlocking the door and turning on the thermostat.

Hive Active LightsBritish Gas subsidiary Hive launches a pair of light bulb additions to the Active Lights app-controlled lighting portfolio-- one colour changing, the other able to shift from cool to warm.

The Colour Changing bulb covers full RGB and white colours, allowing customers to choose from virtually any colour. Similarly the Cool to Warm White bulb is fairly self-explanatory, being tuneable from "warm white" 2700K to a "daylight cool" 6500K colour temperatures. Like the original Active Lights bulbs control comes through a Philips Hue-style app.

Control KNX Lighting With RTI's iKNiX Gateway

Supposedly the first controller configured using only ETS, the iKNiX ProServ supports 18 zones, 16 object max (1000 datapoints) and comes with an included RTI driver. The iKNix Port Gateway acts as an interface for connecting to KNX/EIB on telegram (KNX/net/IP tunneling) and data point (KNX application layer) level.
