Gefen Offers Splitters for Digital Signage

Gefen announces its latest 2 Toolbox splitters ship with fast switching technology (FST) and are 3DTV enabled (via HDMI v1.4 features).

Gefen Toolbox SplitterThe company says sources using HDMI with HDCP will not introduce delays when syncing.

The Toolbox 1:4 and 1:8 splitters distribute any HD source to either 4 or 8 HDTV displays, ideal for digital signage and video wall applications.

The splitters also feature a bypass switch so users can select slow switching (no FST) for integration with analog devices or set-top boxes that don't work with more than one HDCP key.

Aurora Expands HDMI Matrix Offerings

The ASP-3636 HDMI 1.4 card cage matrix routes HD video sources (via HDMI inputs) and multi-channel digital audio (up to 7.1 channel) from any of its 36 inputs to any of its 36 outputs at the same time.

Aurora ASP-3636It has the latest HDMI revision, so it also handles 3D video.

It expands in groupings of 2 on input and output, and is adaptable to the size required.

A New Twist for Patch Cables

Purelink HDMI Cables Win Design Nomination

Purelink may be in its first showing at IFA, but the company is well known for connectivity products in the HDMI/DVI sector.

Catching retail interest attention at IFA, one Purelink product  recently won a 2011 nomination from the German Design Council award. "Retailers wanted a unique HDMI cable so we designed this in Germany," says Christian Ahrens, MD.

Normally HDMI cables only work well up to 5m  to 7.5m and Purelink embedded technology in this cable that extends the distance to 12.5m.

Purelink attracted new distributors at the Reseller Park, showing a full range of connectivity products.

Yanko Proposes Stackable Cable Solution for OEMs

Yanko Design suggests a concept for power cables in a new style - a stackable style, to be precise.

The design adds a tongue-and-groove, making the cable look like a jigsaw-puzzle piece in cross-section. This allows the edges to lock together and create a single, flexible block out of all cables.

This concept would need to be adopted by the manufacturers to be successful but it solves a constant problem for the consumer.
