Chord Company presents the Sarum T-- an update on the flagship Sarum cable range featuring Taylon insulated conductors for what the company claims is a major performance upgrade.

The Sarum T range covers analogue and digital cables, and consists of a mains power cable, analogue interconnect with RCA, XLR or DIN terminations, digital interconnect (S/PDIF, AES/EBU or BNC) and speaker cable with banana or spade connections. All make use of Taylon, the proprietary insulation material first seen in the ChordMusic portfolio.

According to the Chord Company, Taylon originates from communications cables used in the material. As a high-tech alternative to PTFE it is phase-stable at room temperatures, and preserves critical timing information when used in audio cables.

Xantech announces the EX series HDMI cables at ISE 2017, promising a boost in performance, reliability and value for money with 4K 60 4:4:4 resolution capability with 600MHz pixel rate.

The cables distribute HDR video with bandwidth faster than 18Gbps at 4K@50/60 (2160p), or 4x the resolution of 1080p/60 video. In addition all EX series cables feature patented C-Grip locking connector technology able to resist over 4.5kg of force, virtually eliminating truck rolls caused by loose cables.

Media Solutions announces the MS-TestPro-- the first HDBaseT tester with a built-in HDMI pattern generator, simplifying the in-field performance analysis process of HDBaseT devices, cabling and overall configurations.

The built-in HDMI pattern generator supports both CEA and DMT resolutions up to 4K/28Hz, making it compatible with virtually every AV source and display device available. A 3.5-inch touchscreen displays basic performance diagnostics for fast analysis of connectivity signals, including go/no-go indication, cable length, pixel clock and Tx/Rx overall performance.

KanexPro announces the Active Optical Cable (AOC)-- an HDMI 2.0 cable with ethernet up to 18Gbps. It accepts the same electrical inputs as traditional copper cables, but uses optical fibre to extend HDMI signals with zero loss or latency.

According to the company the AOC handles uncompressed 4K resolution video with 32 audio channels for multi-dimensional immersive audio with up to 1536kHz sample frequency. The cable comes in 30, 50 or 100m lengths, and has an integrated USB connected to draw power from the display and dynamic synchronisation of video and audio streams.
